Reports emerging from the summer transfer market indicate that Barcelona showed a strong interest in Liverpool winger Luis Díaz, and were reportedly prepared to offer €70 million for his transfer.
However, Barcelona has confirmed that they are no longer pursuing the player, after considering that the transfer fee was too high and also noting the player’s age as a limiting factor.
Although Luis Díaz was the top target of Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco, the club’s financial situation makes the deal very difficult. Furthermore, Liverpool is not willing to sell the player, as he is still under contract until 2027 and remains a highly valuable and dangerous player.
